Bulletin Boards can offer callers an exclusive selection of information as well as a special club atmosphere. You can communicate directly and immediately with others who have had similar experiences, problems, solutions and ideas as well as being able to debate and discuss differences of opinion. A BBS is an all-in-one site that has all this and the latest PD and Freeware programming and resources too.
It's also possible to reach Arcade BBS from the Internet, thanks to Demon Express Solo ADSL Internet access.
On our StrongARM RiscPC 600 we run Chris Poole's Shareware AlphaNet Web and FTP server allowing Internet users to reach the whole Arcade filebase via a web browser from a set of specially created Web pages to point the way. A Telnet server allows logins to the BBS in exactly the same way as telephone callers.
Arcade BBS is open for almost 24 hours a day for telephone callers.
ADSL Internet access is available all the time, 24 hours a day.
The BBS is closed on all lines between 5:15am and 6:45am local time for automatic backup. The Mail port on 020 8654 2212 is available exclusively to the Fidonet Network between 02:30 and 03:30 GMT.
The Sysops are David Coleman and David Dade, and the BBS is located in Croydon, Surrey.
